Fragments Modernes is a contemporary artist working primarily with collage as a medium of expression.

The practice is based on collecting, selecting, and transforming visual fragments into structured compositions. Influenced by modern art, minimalism, and graphic design, the work explores the relationship between image, material, and meaning.

Process

Collage acts here as an operator of transformation. Through selection, cutting and assembly, it allows new configurations to emerge: fragile balances, silent tensions, unexpected connections between elements that were initially foreign to one another.

The work oscillates between intuition and construction. The instinct of gesture is met by rigorous attention to composition. I move toward simple, legible, almost essential forms, where each element finds its place within a system of relations. Contrasts, rhythms and voids are not effects, but active structures that organize perception.

Emptiness in particular plays a decisive role: it is not absence, but a space of breathing, suspension, sometimes friction. It contributes to the tension between fragments and opens areas of interpretation.

Each piece is made by hand, in a direct relationship with material and image. This choice excludes reproducibility: each composition exists as a singular object, marked by its adjustments, hesitations and decisions.

In this process, the goal is not to illustrate a pre-existing idea, but to let a form emerge at the intersection of gaze, gesture and collected images.
